Within the Group Investments, Asset & Wealth Management Audit we are looking for a Senior Investment Auditor. The job-holder will be included in the Investments Audit Team headed by the Head of Group Investments, Asset & Wealth Management Audit directly reporting to the Head of Group Audit. The Internal Auditor will be part of the Audit Team in charge for audit activity on the investment processes of the Group Insurance Companies. In particular, the Audit Team is in charge for the direct execution of audits on investment processes mainly managed by the GCIO (as well as in some areas of the GCFO function) of the parent company Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A and the coordination of the audit activities on the corresponding processes of the Group Insurance Companies.
The candidate supports the Audit Manager in the audit plan delivery, organizes/completes of audit work, documents and reports audit results:
Risk Assessment
- Contributes in risk analysis for risk assessment aimed at defining the audit plan
Annual Planning
- Contributes to annual plan development and maintenance
- Supports the Audit Manager in the coordination of the Investment Auditors Community around the world
Audit Engagements
- Performs audit activities
- Supports the Audit Manager in the preparation of the Audit Plan, Meeting Minutes, draft and final Audit Report
- Supports the Audit Manager in the coordination of the Investment Auditors Community around the world
- Proposes corrective actions and delivers the final audit report with the support of the Audit Manager; in this regard, the candidate has the ability to operate with minimum supervision on less complex assignments subject to guidance when required and subsequent review
- Supports in checking issues resolution
- Supports in tracking the implementation of agreed actions
Reporting
- Reports on audit results and production
Relationship with Auditees and other control functions
- Manage good relations with Auditees and external auditors
- Support the Audit Manager in granting that the evolving Internal Audit program reflects the changing pattern of risks and addresses current and emerging priorities
Key responsibilities of the role will include:
- Undertake investment audits (i.e. audit on investment processes of insurance companies) including head office audit or cross-countries audit
- Ensure compliance with internal (audit methodology and risk management) and external (Italian/European regulatory) requirements
- Support the Audit manager/Head of the function in preparing other documentation that are part of the business as usual (i.e. Report for the Management, quarterly reporting and ad hoc reporting)
- Performance of risk assessments and development of risk-oriented audit programs
- Contribute to data analytics and automation initiatives
Our ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
Must have:
Education/ Years of experience required:
- Advanced University education in Business Administration/Accounting or Finance/ Engineering
- Previous experience 5/6 years in the internal or external audit, possibly in a financial institution (insurance company, asset management or bank)
Business Knowledge:
- Knowledge of corporate governance, regulatory environment, investments for insurer and/or asset management business
- Technical knowledge of investments (including real estate and real assets in general), finance and internal control processes
Additional requirements:
- Knowledge and ability to evaluate and enhance internal control processes and capability of performing risk assessment and execute audits
- International mindset and availability to travel abroad (subject to COVID restriction)
- Good knowledge of computer work and advanced command of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)
Managerial skills:
- Analytical, precision in execution of the assigned tasks with presentation skills and ability both to write in a clear and concise manner and to manage time in an effective manner
- Commitment to continuous learning and willingness to keep up to date on new developments in the audit field
